Iosefo Masi from the Fijian Drua is being considered as a potential replacement for Semi Radradra at Lyon, a French Top 14 club. Masi signed a two-year deal with the Fijian Drua in 2022, which is set to conclude this year, and he has not yet renewed his contract.
Reports from Midi Olympique indicate that Radradra’s contract is also nearing its end and is unlikely to be renewed. The report states, “According to our information, the Lyon leaders would be pursuing one of the standout players from the recent Super Rugby.”
Lyon officials are reportedly contemplating Radradra’s future with the club, as his contract is expiring. Club president Yann Roubert has expressed his thoughts regarding Radradra, acknowledging the high expectations for the previous season that went unmet.
Roubert commented, “For Semi, as for the rest of the group and the entire club, we hoped for more and better last season. The magic of sport allows for a fresh start with the upcoming season, which must enable everyone to showcase their worth and commitment to our values.”
He elaborated that the new season would offer players a chance to demonstrate their value and desire to remain with the club. Last weekend, Radradra did not make the starting line-up as Lyon suffered a heavy defeat, losing 43-22 to La Rochelle.
