Marist Old Boys Triumph in Thrilling Koroturaga Quarter-Final Showdown

MARIST Old Boys (OB) team showcased an outstanding performance in their narrow 13-10 victory over the Draunivau Sharks during the FMF Suva Rugby Union Koroturaga quarter-final at Bidesi grounds in Suva yesterday.

The match was fiercely competitive, with both teams exchanging points throughout the game. In the end, Marist clinched the win by a slight margin.

Assistant coach Tadeo Vulaca commended the team’s determination, recognizing the formidable challenge presented by the Draunivau Sharks.

The win was dedicated to the late Belasio Vukiwai, with players and officials donning black armbands in his memory, as well as honoring Tevita Waqa and other players who were lost earlier in the season.

“Preparation leading up to the competition went exceptionally well. This year, we fielded two teams, one in the Escott and one in the Koroturaga tournaments. Our main objective this year is to secure both trophies since our Escott team is already advancing, and we aim to reclaim the Koroturaga title for Flagstaff,” said Vulaca.

In other matches, Covenant Red triumphed over Army Red with a score of 26-12, while Suva Stallions faced a close defeat against Nabua White, losing 23-24.
