“Marist Brothers Rally for Nasinu: A Game Beyond the Field”

The motto “I’m my brother’s keeper” unites the students of Marist Brothers High School, a sentiment brought to life recently as they donated equipment kits to the Nasinu under-18 rugby team for their upcoming semi-final match against Cuvu College.

Although the Marist team’s journey ended in the Deans quarter-finals against the reigning champions Queen Victoria School, they extended their support by providing wraps and Fiji water bottles to the Nasinu team. Principal Asish Dayal emphasized the school’s commitment to supporting the Nasinu first XV team, underlining the importance of solidarity in Southern Zone rugby.

Dayal remarked that rugby transcends just the actions on the field, emphasizing the value of support and camaraderie off the field. “We are here to support our Nasinu first XV team, standing united as Southern Zone rugby,” he stated. “While we may be fierce rivals on the field, our journey has reached its end, yet we continue to back Nasinu, reflecting our motto ‘I’m my brother’s keeper.’ Rugby encompasses both on-field and off-field aspects.”

The Marist team’s best wishes were conveyed to the Nasinu side as they gear up for their significant match. In response, Nasinu Secondary Vice Principal Navitalai Waiwalu expressed deep gratitude to Marist Brothers High School for their generous gesture, acknowledging it as a meaningful show of support from their fellow rugby companions.
