Marijuana Found at Kindergarten: Investigation Launched

Marijuana was found at a kindergarten in Kinoya, Nasinu. Acting Police Commissioner Juki Fong Chew confirmed the discovery and stated that an investigation is underway to determine how the substance ended up in the educational facility for children.

Chew noted that there have been several instances of children being found with drugs and related items. He emphasized that these children are often innocent, carrying drugs for someone else who will later retrieve them. He expressed concern about the responsibility of parents and guardians in these situations.

When young individuals are caught with illegal substances, the police follow specific procedures. Typically, parents must be present during questioning, and if the instance occurs on school grounds, teachers are also included in the process. Continuous counseling is provided to help young people understand the dangers of drug use and the importance of avoiding involvement in drug-related activities.

The Acting Commissioner highlighted that police conduct daily arrests of individuals found in possession of illegal drugs.
