Sireli Maqala, the fullback for the Flying Fijians, showcased an impressive performance by scoring the try-of-the-match, aiding Bayonne in their 37-7 victory over La Rochelle in their Top 14 matchup at Stade Jean Dauger Stadium.
Maqala, who played at outside center, initiated and completed a remarkable length-of-the-field attack, culminating in a stylish dive to score in the corner at the 50-minute mark.
Bayonne’s strong performance was mostly established in the first half, featuring tries from Aurelien Callandret, Facundo Bosch, Camille Lopez, a penalty try, along with two conversions and a penalty from their flyhalf.
La Rochelle managed to score a single consolation try in the 71st minute, with Alexandre Kuntelia crossing the line and Ihaia West successfully converting it.
