Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced the resignation of Barbara Malimali from her position as Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC). Rabuka, in his capacity as Chair of the Constitutional Offices Commission (COC), received an email from the Solicitor-General, who acts as the COC Secretariat, at 8:17 AM on Saturday, September 14, confirming her resignation. This announcement follows a recent newspaper article regarding the matter. The Prime Minister noted that Malimali has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC).
