Major Road Closure in Fiji: What You Need to Know!

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced a temporary road closure on Kings Road, specifically in the Suva-bound lanes from the Nakasi Road junction to the Adi Lady Davila Road junction. This closure will occur on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2 PM to 10 PM.

The closure is necessary for the trimming of three large trees whose branches are encroaching on the pedestrian footpath, cycle lane, bus shelter, and part of the road. This initiative underscores the FRA’s commitment to ensuring safe access for both pedestrians and motorists.

During this time, all traffic headed to Suva will be rerouted through Nakasi Road, Vavalagi Road, and Vishnu Deo Road, allowing access back to Kings Road as delineated in the accompanying diagram.

The FRA expects to complete the work within the planned timeframe and apologizes in advance for any noise disturbances. They appreciate the understanding of residents living near the construction area.

For any questions or additional information, members of the public can reach out to the FRA at their toll-free number 5720 during weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM or via email at info@fijiroads.org.
