In Navosa’s Malua range, police have confiscated over 2,000 plants suspected to be marijuana following two significant raids. Officers from the Western Division Serious Organised Crime Intelligence Department were dispatched to the area after receiving intelligence regarding the possible cultivation of illicit plants.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, emphasized that this seizure is an important step in disrupting the marijuana supply chain, targeting those involved in its cultivation and distribution. ACP Driu noted that several recent arrests have been made, with suspects being charged and brought to court. He praised the cooperation and information-sharing that facilitated these discoveries and past arrests.
The first farm yielded over 1,800 plants, while a second location had more than 900 plants ranging from 10 cm to 2.5 meters tall, all believed to be marijuana.
