Major Drug Bust: Twelve Arrested in Nationwide Operations!

Twelve individuals have been arrested on drug-related charges following recent police operations. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, announced that these arrests took place over the last 48 hours.

Driu reported that during a raid at a residence in Namara, Labasa, police seized several plastic bags containing white substances, suspected to be methamphetamine. Three men were taken into custody in connection with this find. Additionally, more than $1,000 in cash, presumed to be illicit earnings, was also confiscated.

In the Western Division, specifically in Lautoka, authorities apprehended a 26-year-old man who was found with two plastic bags containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine, as well as marijuana. Meanwhile, in Rakiraki, four men were arrested after several sachets of dried leaves thought to be marijuana and bags containing white crystals presumed to be methamphetamine were discovered.

Two further arrests were made in Lautoka when two men were caught with sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana. In another incident, a 29-year-old individual was apprehended in Nadi for possessing marijuana plants and seedlings.

This morning, a police team, including K9 officers, conducted a raid in Tavakubu, Lautoka, leading to the seizure of substances believed to be methamphetamine and the arrest of a 44-year-old man.

ACP Driu emphasized the ongoing efforts to combat the drug trade, stating that police operations are actively targeting suspected dealers across all five divisions. He urged the public to assist in these efforts by sharing information, highlighting that every bit of information contributes to reducing the supply of illicit drugs.
