Major Drug Bust: Police Seize Seemingly Marijuana in Tacirua Raid

A joint operation carried out by police officers in Tacirua led to the discovery of dried leaves believed to be marijuana. The raid involved officers from the Southern Division’s Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, the Fiji Detector Dog Unit, and the Police Dog Unit.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu reported that the operation at the home of a 57-year-old suspect resulted in the seizure of over 200 rolls of aluminum foil containing the dried leaves, along with more than a thousand small branches that are suspected to be marijuana.

ACP Driu underscored the importance of community support in providing crucial information to law enforcement. He commended the successful operation as a significant advancement in the battle against drug trafficking and stressed the value of collaboration between the police and the community.
