Major Drug Bust: Over 200 Rolls of Aluminum Foil Seized in Fiji

More than 200 rolls of aluminum foil containing dried leaves and approximately a thousand small branches believed to be marijuana were confiscated in Tacirua, close to Suva, yesterday afternoon.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, reported that a coordinated raid was carried out by personnel from the Fiji Police Force’s Southern Division’s Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department (SOCID), the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), and the Police Dog Unit.

The operation targeted the residence of a 57-year-old man, where the illegal substances, allegedly prepared for sale, were found. ACP Driu highlighted the importance of community support for the police.

“The raid showcases the ongoing collaboration between the community and the Fiji Police Force in sharing crucial information,” he stated.

“We are grateful for everyone who continues to support our efforts in combating drug-related issues.”
