Authorities in Waqadra, Nadi executed a successful drug raid on Thursday, leading to the arrest of seven individuals. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that during this operation, law enforcement officers confiscated several zip lock bags containing crystalline substances suspected to be methamphetamine, as well as another bag with a white powder believed to be cocaine. Additionally, over $300 in cash, which is thought to be derived from criminal activities, was also recovered.

ACP Driu noted that this operation is part of a larger crackdown on illicit drug possession. In the past week alone, multiple arrests have been made across various locations, including behind the Labasa market, Tomuka in Lautoka, Dreketi Settlement in Lautoka, Varadoli in Ba, Nasivi Street in Tavua, Nanuku Settlement, and in Samabula.

This dedicated effort by law enforcement reflects a serious commitment to addressing drug-related issues within communities and highlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking and abuse. As authorities continue to act decisively, there is hope for a safer environment for residents and a stronger support system for those affected by substance abuse. Overall, these actions underscore the importance of community cooperation in fighting drug-related crime.
