More than 200 rolls of aluminum foil containing dried leaves and approximately 1,000 small branches believed to be marijuana were confiscated in Tacirua, near Suva, yesterday afternoon.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, a coordinated raid was executed by personnel from the Fiji Police Force’s Southern Division’s Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department (SOCID), the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), and the Police Dog Unit.
The operation targeted the residence of a 57-year-old man, where the illegal substances intended for sale were found. ACP Driu praised the collaboration between the police and the community.
