Major Drug Bust in Fiji: Over 200 Rolls of Foil Seized

More than 200 rolls of aluminum foil filled with dried leaves and about a thousand small branches believed to be marijuana were confiscated in Tacirua, near Suva, yesterday afternoon.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operation, Livai Driu, reported that a coordinated raid was executed by personnel from the Fiji Police Force’s Southern Division, specifically the Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department (SOCID), as well as the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU) and the Police Dog Unit.

The operation targeted the residence of a 57-year-old man, where authorities discovered the illegal substances intended for sale. ACP Driu praised the partnership between the community and the police.

“The raid demonstrates the ongoing support from the community in collaboration with the Fiji Police Force through the sharing of information,” he stated. “We appreciate everyone who continues to support law enforcement efforts in the fight against drugs.”
