More than 200 rolls of aluminum foil filled with dried leaves and around a thousand small branches, suspected to be marijuana, were confiscated in Tacirua, near Suva, yesterday afternoon.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, reported that the operation was a collaborative effort involving personnel from the Southern Division’s Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, the Fiji Detector Dog Unit, and the Police Dog Unit.
The authorities conducted a raid on the residence of a 57-year-old man, where they found the illegal substances prepared for sale. ACP Driu commended the partnership between the community and the police.
“The raid highlights the ongoing support from community members collaborating with the Fiji Police Force by providing vital information,” he stated. “We value the contributions of all those who assist in our fight against drugs.”
