Over 200 rolls of aluminum foil filled with dried leaves and approximately a thousand small branches suspected to be marijuana were retrieved in Tacirua, close to Suva, yesterday afternoon.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, reported that the seizure resulted from a collaborative raid involving personnel from the Fiji Police Force’s Southern Division’s Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, the Fiji Detector Dog Unit, and the Police Dog Unit.

The operation targeted the residence of a 57-year-old man, where the illegal substances prepared for sale were uncovered. ACP Driu expressed gratitude for the collaboration between the community and the police.

“The raid illustrates the ongoing support from community members collaborating with the Fiji Police Force in sharing vital information,” he stated. “We value everyone’s contribution to our policing efforts in combating drug-related issues.”
