Authorities have recently conducted two significant raids in the Malua range of Navosa, leading to the seizure of over 2,000 plants suspected to be marijuana. The Western Division Serious Organised Crime Intelligence Department (SOCID) executed these operations following credible information regarding the cultivation of the illicit plant.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, emphasized that this seizure plays a crucial role in disrupting the underground supply chain of marijuana. He noted that recent efforts have resulted in multiple arrests, with suspects charged and brought to court. Driu praised the cooperation within the community, which has been instrumental in both the latest raids and prior actions against drug-related activities.
The operations uncovered more than 1,800 plants at one site and over 900 at another, with the plants varying in height from 10 centimeters to 2.5 meters. These proactive measures by law enforcement highlight a commitment to tackling drug cultivation and distribution in the region.
This concerted effort reflects a larger initiative to improve community safety and reduce the influence of illegal drug operations. By fostering collaboration and sharing information, authorities are making strides toward enhancing public health and safety while maintaining an open dialogue with the community.
Overall, this positive action against drug cultivation signifies progress in the ongoing battle against illegal drug activity and reinforces the importance of community vigilance.
