Vodafone Fiji Bati winger Maika Sivo has received approval from the Parramatta Eels to seek new opportunities to advance his career. The 31-year-old player is actively searching for a new club, with his agent already in discussions with multiple teams overseas.

Sivo revealed that his manager is in talks with the Leeds Rhinos, aligning with rumors of his potential transfer to the Super League and a reunion with former coach Brad Arthur. Despite the possibility of leaving, Sivo has expressed deep affection for the Eels, referring to the club as his second home.

He stated his intention to refrain from playing against the Eels as a sign of respect for the support they have provided him and his family. “I will always remember that place from the bottom of my heart, especially my family; my kids were born there. I know my entire football career is tied to the Eels, and there will always be good memories,” he said.

Eels General Manager Mark O’Neill praised Sivo for his contributions and wished him the best in his future ventures, reinforcing that Sivo will always be a member of the Eels family.

As he navigates this transition, Sivo remains dedicated to representing the Vodafone Fiji Bati in the forthcoming Pacific Rugby League Bowl Championship against the Cook Islands Aitu. The match is scheduled for tomorrow at HFC Bank Stadium at 8:10 PM.
