Vodafone Fiji Bati player Maika Sivo has received permission from the Parramatta Eels to seek new career opportunities. At 31 years old, the skilled winger is now searching for a new club, with his manager currently in discussions with several international teams.

Sivo confirmed that talks are underway with the Leeds Rhinos, and the speculation regarding his potential transfer to the Super League and a reunion with former coach Brad Arthur may become a reality.

Despite the possibility of moving on, Sivo expressed deep affection for the Eels, referring to the club as his second home. He stated that, out of respect for the support he and his family have received, he will not play against the Eels.

“I will always remember that place from the bottom of my heart, especially since my children were born there. All I know is that the Eels have been central to my rugby career, filled with many happy memories,” he said.

Eels General Manager Mark O’Neill praised Sivo’s contributions to the club and wished him the best in his future pursuits, reaffirming that he will always be part of the Eels family.

While transitioning to a new club, Sivo remains dedicated to representing the Vodafone Fiji Bati in the upcoming Pacific Rugby League Bowl Championship against the Cook Island Aitu, set to take place at HFC Bank Stadium tomorrow at 8:10 PM.
