Maika Sivo, a prominent player for Vodafone Fiji Bati, has recently secured a release from the Parramatta Eels to seek new career opportunities. The 31-year-old winger is actively searching for a new club, with his manager already in discussions with multiple teams overseas.

Sivo’s manager has also been in contact with the Leeds Rhinos, amplifying speculation about the player’s potential move to the Super League and a reunion with his former coach, Brad Arthur. Despite the possibility of leaving, Sivo cherishes his time with the Eels, referring to the club as his second home. He expressed a heartfelt commitment not to compete against the Eels out of respect for the support they have extended to him and his family.

“I will always remember that place from the bottom of my heart, especially because my children were born there. The Eels have played a significant role in my entire football career, and I will always have fond memories of that time,” Sivo stated.

Mark O’Neill, the General Manager of the Eels, acknowledged Sivo’s contributions to the club and wished him well in his future pursuits, emphasizing that Sivo will always remain a valued member of the Eels family.

As he navigates this transition, Sivo is focused on representing the Vodafone Fiji Bati in the upcoming Pacific Rugby League Bowl Championship match against the Cook Islands Aitu, scheduled for tomorrow at HFC Bank Stadium at 8:10 PM.
