Fiji Bati winger Maika Sivo has officially joined the Leeds Rhinos on a three-year contract. Sivo recently showcased his skills by scoring two tries in Fiji’s impressive 56-6 victory over the Cook Islands, bringing his total to 10 tries in just eight Tests.
In his first remarks as a Leeds player, Sivo emphasized the importance of his connection with Rhinos coach Brad Arthur. Having transitioned from the NRL side Parramatta Eels, where he was known for his strong scoring record, Sivo looks forward to reuniting with Arthur, who he credits for his development as a player during their time together.
Sivo expressed gratitude towards Arthur, stating, “He is a big part of where I am today; I wouldn’t be here without Brad.” The moment Arthur reached out, Sivo and his partner were quick to decide to make the move, indicating their eagerness for the new challenge ahead.
The player acknowledged that this will be his first experience outside of Parramatta, viewing it as an exciting opportunity to grow in his career. He is also set to join a growing community of Fijian players in the Super League.
