Fiji Bati winger Maika Sivo has officially joined the Leeds Rhinos on a three-year contract. Sivo, who recently contributed two tries to Fiji’s impressive 56-6 victory over the Cook Islands, has now scored a total of 10 tries in eight international matches.

In an interview following his signing announcement, Sivo emphasized the strong bond he shares with Leeds coach Brad Arthur. Having moved from the NRL’s Parramatta Eels, where he established himself as a key try scorer, Sivo will reunite with Arthur, who previously spent a decade at Parramatta before transitioning to Leeds.

“He is a significant part of my journey; I wouldn’t be here without Brad,” Sivo stated. “As soon as he reached out to me, I immediately agreed to come. He has been instrumental in my football career and is very close to my family, too.”

Sivo mentioned that deciding to switch clubs was a significant choice, but after discussing it with his partner, they concluded that they were ready to embrace this new opportunity. “When we spoke with Brad, we felt a sense of excitement for the challenges ahead,” he added.

Having only played for Parramatta, Sivo anticipates that this new chapter will offer a unique experience and serve as a positive challenge in his career.
