Mahajibhai Hardware, a Nadi-based company, has announced its support for the district football team as they prepare for the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. During a cheque presentation of $7,500 held in Martintar, Nadi, company director Sudhish Patel expressed that this marks their first instance of backing the team.
Patel emphasized the importance of supporting Nadi Football and the local community, noting the team’s hard work and improved performance. He extended his best wishes to the team, hoping they can secure a victory and bring home the trophy this year.
Nadi Football Association’s president, Mohin Rafiq, acknowledged the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware as a significant blessing for the local football community. He highlighted the challenges companies face in providing sponsorship at such levels during tough economic times.
Rafiq also announced that the team will be recognized as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi, given they have secured two major sponsors. He thanked head coach Raj Dayal and the dedicated supporters in Calgary and around the globe for their contributions. He expressed optimism about the upcoming IDC, stating they have a solid plan in place for the tournament.
The team’s preparation is strongly supported by the coaches and board of control. Nadi will face the defending champions, Ba, in their opening match next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
