Mahajibhai Hardware, a company based in Nadi, has extended its support to the local district football team in preparation for the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. This support was highlighted during a recent cheque presentation of $7,500 held in Martintar, Nadi. Company director Sudhish Patel remarked that this is their inaugural sponsorship of the district team, emphasizing the team’s hard work and improved performance.
Patel expressed his hopes for the team, stating, “I hope they’ll go and win the tournament. Good luck to the Nadi team, and I hope they can bring the trophy back this year.”
Nadi Football Association president Mohin Rafiq praised the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware, describing it as a blessing for the Nadi football community, particularly in challenging economic times when securing sponsorships can be difficult.
Rafiq announced that the team will be recognized as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi due to the involvement of two major sponsors. He extended his gratitude to head coach Raj Dayal and the dedicated supporters in Calgary and worldwide for their backing. Rafiq expressed optimism about the upcoming tournament, stating, “We have a very good plan which we are working on.”
He noted that the coaching staff and the board of control are providing strong support for the team’s preparations. Nadi will face off against the defending champions Ba in their opening match next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
