An agri-tourism resort, Vanua Ranch, is set to open a boutique villa accommodation in Uciwai, Nadi, Fiji in 2026. Speaking at the Asia-Pacific Hotel Industry Conference (AHICE) Fiji Investment in Tourism Summit in Nadi last week, Vanua Ranch director Steve Howard shared that the multi-million-dollar resort will feature 17 luxury villas.
“We fall into a new category of agri-tourism, integrating a farm ranch with a luxury villa resort,” Howard explained. “We will offer a farm-to-table experience, coupled with an integrated cultural experience where guests can interact with the farm.”
Despite being primarily agricultural, the resort offers stunning views of the South Pacific. It will also include a common ranch house for gatherings, dining, and relaxation by the pool, all while providing exceptional customer experience with a focus on sustainability.
Why Invest in Fiji
Howard noted that the opportunity arose from 15 years of relationships with Fijian friends. “When you visit Fiji for the first time, you understand why you want to be here. There’s no other place like it. We are grateful for the chance to develop this special piece of land and believe Fiji is the ultimate destination.”
North America, Howard mentioned, is increasingly showing interest in Fiji as a travel destination. However, the project faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “We have been progressing with some slowdowns due to the pandemic, but our goal has always been to enhance the cultural experience when visiting Fiji.”
The resort plans to employ local villagers for most of its services, emphasizing the importance of giving back to the community. “Providing grants and opportunities for further education is important to us. We want to highlight and showcase the trades already prevalent in Fiji,” Howard said.
He added, “Fiji is not just about surfing or being on a private island; it’s about immersing yourself in the culture and seeing how Fijians live. They excel in providing unmatched hospitality and making guests feel welcome.”
