In a heartwarming display of community spirit, staff and management from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) visited St Christopher’s Home in Nakasi to celebrate the Christmas season. The event embraced the essence of the holiday, offering an evening filled with warmth, love, and generosity to the children and staff of the home.
During their visit, the LTA team hosted a delightful dinner and presented gifts to the children, reinforcing the Authority’s commitment to engaging with the community and promoting kindness through its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
LTA chief executive Irimaia Rokosawa expressed that for many children at St Christopher’s Home, life has been challenging. He remarked that the Home is a sanctuary for various children, including abandoned infants, neglected and unwanted youths, orphans, and those from disrupted family environments. “Each child carries a unique story—some marked by loss, others by hardship—but all united by the nurturing care they receive at the Home,” Rokosawa stated. He emphasized that the visit wasn’t just about giving; it was an opportunity to connect with the children and remind them of their value and love within the community.
The staff from the Valelevu Branch dedicated their time to engage with the children through conversations, singing carols, and sharing meals. This connection underscored the significance of human interaction and how small acts of kindness can make a substantial difference.
