Starting from January 1, 2025, the prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) products, diesel, and kerosene will see a rise. The cost of a 4.5 kg gas cylinder will increase by 18 cents, bringing the total price to $15.53. Meanwhile, a 12 kg cylinder will now be priced at $41.42, reflecting a 50 cents increase.
Bulk gas will also see a slight increment of four cents, setting the price at $3.20 per kg, while the price for autogas will increase by three cents to $2.25 per litre. For diesel and kerosene, consumers will pay an additional four cents per litre, raising the cost of diesel to $2.31 and kerosene to $1.78.
However, prices for motor spirit and premix fuel will remain stable, with motor spirit priced at $2.67 per litre and premix fuel at $2.51 per litre.
This adjustment in fuel prices, while affecting household budgets, may encourage consumers to consider energy-efficient alternatives and promote a shift towards more sustainable energy practices. It highlights the ongoing volatility in fuel markets and the need for strategic planning on energy consumption.
