“I feel proud to be the first student at my school to score the highest marks in Vanua Levu,” the Taganikula native shared. Her journey to success is driven by her ambition to honor her family’s hard work. Her father, an electrician in Suva, and her mother, an administrative staff member at the school, have provided her with the encouragement and resources needed to excel.
Rayna dedicated countless hours to her studies, often revising late into the night and rising as early as 4 AM to prepare. Sharing her aspirations, she mentioned, “I have always come first in my school since Year One. Like other students, I also struggled but I never used it as an excuse to achieve my goal.”
Proud of her daughter’s achievements, Shareeni Lal, Rayna’s mother, plans to enroll her at Labasa College for further education. Wainikoro Public School’s head teacher, Rajesh Kumar, congratulated Rayna for her remarkable accomplishment and thanked the support from the Ministry of Education’s Labasa office.
“This is the first time we received the highest mark in the North, and all of us here, including the school management, are proud,” Mr. Kumar remarked, adding that Rayna also earned the title of school dux this year.
Rayna’s story serves as an inspiration to students everywhere, demonstrating that dedication and hard work can lead to impressive achievements. Her success highlights the importance of support from family and educators in reaching academic goals.
