Local Entrepreneur’s Bold Move: Millions for New Hotels in Fiji

A businessman from Labasa is making a significant financial commitment to build two hotels in the Northern Division. Vinesh Dayal, who serves as the managing director of The Lunchbox, Northpole Hotels Labasa, and Vualiku Hotel Nadi, announced plans to establish hotels in Labasa and Savusavu.

Dayal shared his long-held desire to have a presence in Savusavu, where he has secured a 10-acre beachfront property. He indicated that within the next two years, a resort built by a local developer will emerge in Savusavu.

Regarding the project in Labasa, he mentioned that construction on the Vualiku Hotel at Jaycee’s Park is expected to commence soon. This hotel project at Jaycess Park is part of a collaboration with the landowners, a partnership that was forged 14 years ago.

Dayal expressed that the collaboration was aimed at integrating landowners into mainstream business, and he feels optimistic as progress is finally being made. He emphasized that these two hotel projects will not only create jobs but also contribute economically to the region.

Currently, his enterprise, Lunchbox, has established itself as a well-known brand, employing 100 people across seven branches. The new Vualiku Hotel in Nadi is set to employ 40 workers, while Labasa Northpole will bring in an additional 30 jobs.

Dayal conveyed his strong confidence in the economy, which motivates his substantial investments in business.
