Local Businessman Set to Transform Northern Fiji with New Hotels

A businessman from Labasa is committing significant investment towards the construction of two hotels in the Northern division. Vinesh Dayal, the managing director of The Lunchbox, Northpole Hotels Labasa, and Vualiku Hotel Nadi, announced plans to build hotels in both Labasa and Savusavu.

Dayal expressed a long-standing desire to establish a presence in Savusavu and revealed the acquisition of a 10-acre beachfront property in the area. “In the next 24 months, you will see the first resort constructed by a local,” he stated. Regarding the project in Labasa, he mentioned that construction for the Vualiku Hotel at Jaycee’s Park will commence shortly.

This hotel initiative at Jaycess Park is a collaborative venture with local landowners, a partnership that was established 14 years ago. “This partnership aimed to involve the landowners in mainstream business, and it seems there is finally light at the end of the tunnel,” he added.

Dayal emphasized that the two projects will generate job opportunities alongside various economic advantages. Currently, The Lunchbox is a well-recognized brand that employs 100 staff across seven branches. The new Vualiku Hotel in Nadi employs 40 workers, while Labasa Northpole has 30 employees.

He expressed strong confidence in the economy, which motivates his substantial investment in the business.
