A businessman from Labasa is making a substantial investment to develop two hotels in the Northern division of Fiji. Vinesh Dayal, who is the managing director of The Lunchbox, Northpole Hotels Labasa, and Vualiku Hotel Nadi, has announced plans to establish hotels in both Labasa and Savusavu.

Dayal expressed a long-standing interest in creating a presence in Savusavu, where he has acquired a 10-acre beachfront property. He anticipates that within the next two years, the first resort built by a local will emerge in this area.

Regarding the Labasa project, construction on the Vualiku Hotel at Jaycee’s Park is set to commence shortly. This hotel development is a collaborative effort with local landowners, a partnership that was established 14 years ago to involve the landowners in mainstream business operations.

Dayal is optimistic about the prospects these two projects will bring, including job creation and other economic benefits. His thriving business, Lunchbox, currently provides employment for 100 people across seven branches. The new Vualiku Hotel in Nadi employs 40 workers, while the Labasa Northpole Hotel has 30 employees.

Confidence in the economy drives Dayal’s decision to invest heavily in his ventures.
