Tevita Loga, a 56-year-old entrepreneur, is making strides in the local bakery business with his establishment, Three T’s, located in Naruwai, Dama, Bua. The bakery, which has been operational for just a month, is already seeing positive momentum in sales driven by a supportive local customer base in the Dama region.

Loga and his partner are both committed to community work, building a bakery to assist local residents with their needs. He noted, “Our bakery business has just started in Dama and is already proving beneficial for the other villages we are engaging with.”

A key motivation for starting this business stemmed from the remoteness of the area, which made it challenging for residents to access bakery products and fresh food. Loga highlighted that approximately 130 families live nearby and are in great need of local bakery goods to ease transportation burdens that require them to travel over 200 kilometers to purchase these essentials.

In recent weeks, loga reported significant sales growth, noting how local residents are purchasing various baked goods continually. He mentioned, “Several villages, including Kubulau and Nasolo, are enjoying our products like cream buns, cheese buns, pizza, coconut rolls, and a variety of cakes.”

Loga also emphasized that the success of the bakery is directly tied to customer demand, stating that they have witnessed consistent sales during the past three weeks. He expressed hope that continued community support could lead to further expansion in the future.

Despite the challenges of supply chains and logistical hurdles experienced when delivering goods from Labasa, Loga remains optimistic about the future of his bakery, citing that they are dedicated to community service while improving livelihoods through local business growth.

In conclusion, Loga encourages community members to embrace positive changes and maintain a resilient spirit in overcoming barriers, ensuring the bakery continues to thrive within the local economy.
