Nilesh Karan, who has served as the senior loan officer for the Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF), is embarking on a new chapter in his life as he transitions into a legal career. At 47 years old, Karan recently graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Fiji, marking a significant milestone in his professional journey.
With prior experience in civil and litigation matters from various law firms in Ba, Lautoka, and Nadi, as well as a tenure at the Housing Authority, Karan brings a wealth of knowledge to his new career path. Before joining SCGF, he had also worked as a senior credit officer at Carpenter Finance in Lautoka. His dedication to the SCGF spans an impressive 19 years.
Completing his law degree as a working student took Karan seven years, during which he encountered numerous challenges that imparted valuable life lessons. He emphasized the importance of time management, stating that balancing his studies, work, and family commitments required meticulous planning. Karan developed a flexible schedule that allotted specific times for lectures, studying, and work responsibilities, allowing him to stay organized and focused.
