Leadership’s Secret Ingredient: The Power of Communication

During the formal dinner and graduation ceremony for the 2/24 Junior Staff Officers course on October 4, 2024, Captain Lepani Vaniqi emphasized the significance of effective communication in leadership. The event took place at the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Queen Elizabeth Barracks Officers Mess in Nabua.

As the Chief Guest, Captain Vaniqi, who serves as the Director of Finance, Logistics, and Acquisition, recognized the dedication of the Officers Training School Staff. He praised their hard work and commitment to maintaining professionalism throughout the completion of this year’s second Junior Staff Officers Course.

Captain Vaniqi also highlighted the importance of two-way communication in leadership. He noted that leaders should actively listen to feedback from their teams to show respect and value their contributions.

In his concluding remarks, Captain Vaniqi stated, “Communication is not merely a tool for leadership; it is the essence of leadership itself. It empowers leaders to inspire, collaborate, manage change, and build relationships.”
