The Public Service Commission has made an announcement regarding a significant change in leadership within the Ministry of Education. Selina Kuruleca, who has been serving as the Permanent Secretary for Education, has been reassigned to the position of Permanent Secretary for Justice, effective next Monday.
In her place, Ratu Meli Nacuva will take on the duties of Acting Permanent Secretary for Education while concurrently maintaining her responsibilities as Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sports.
Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Luke Rokovada, expressed gratitude to Kuruleca for her dedication to maintaining high standards in education, particularly in the areas of quality and equity. He emphasized that this new role would allow her to further utilize her skills and experience in a different capacity.
Rokovada also highlighted Nacuva’s extensive background in public administration, education policy, and training and development, noting that her expertise will be vital in advancing the Ministry’s mission to enhance educational quality and accessibility for all citizens.
The Commission is focused on ensuring a seamless transition so that the Ministry of Education can continue its commitment to improving educational outcomes.
