LDS Church Transforms Student Lives with $1.1 Million Dormitory Upgrade

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has received commendation for its recent initiative to complete two new dormitories for students at Ratu Kadavulevu School. Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro officiated the opening and expressed the government’s gratitude for the $1.1 million refurbishment.

The newly constructed dormitories, named Bure Cakau and Ma’afu, will provide accommodation for hundreds of students at the school, thanks to the efforts of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Church has a longstanding tradition of engaging in educational and humanitarian projects throughout the Pacific region, and this latest contribution reinforces its dedication to the welfare of young people in Fiji.

The Minister highlighted the significance of collaboration between the government and private sectors in enhancing educational facilities nationwide.

The renovated dormitories, which had suffered extensive fire damage, now feature modern amenities, including over 140 new double bunk beds, allowing them to accommodate 280 students annually.
