FLICK Hygiene Services has secured a government contract to initiate a termite baiting program targeting Asian Subterranean Termites in Lautoka this month. Sashi Kiran, co-chairperson of the Termite Taskforce, stated that staff members from the company will be visiting homes that have reported termite infestations and are part of the government’s grant program.
Kiran urged homeowners to be present during the baiting sessions and to verify the identity of service providers before allowing them into their homes for baiting services. She explained that Flick Hygiene Services will examine the extent of damage and assess active termite colonies on the properties.
The baiting initiative will involve the identification of termite colonies, with baiting scheduled and at least three follow-up visits planned to ensure the eradication of colonies that threaten homes. Kiran also mentioned that all relevant images and data will be compiled for reports on the pilot project being executed in Lautoka.
