Lautoka’s hopes for the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) have received a significant boost with the addition of veteran goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara. Currently living and playing in Auckland, New Zealand, Mateinaqara has been released from his job at Rams Group of Companies to enhance the team’s goalkeeping options, which have recently faced challenges.
The experienced former national goalkeeper has a history of IDC victories. Besides representing Lautoka, he has also played for other teams such as Ba, Navua, Nadi, and Suva. Flick Hygiene Lautoka is placed in Group A alongside Suva, Navua, and Labasa, with their opening match scheduled against Navua next Tuesday at 6pm.
