Lautoka Stuns Rewa in Thrilling IDC Showdown!

Lautoka caused a significant upset on the second day of the primary school inter-district competition by defeating Rewa with a score of 2-1.

From the outset, Lautoka demonstrated energy and concentration. They quickly gained the advantage with a powerful header from a corner kick, putting them ahead 1-0. However, Rewa responded swiftly, equalizing just before halftime, bringing the score to 1-1.

The intensity continued in the second half, as both teams pressed hard for a goal. Lautoka reclaimed the lead through a precise series of passes, resulting in a second goal that made the score 2-1.

Although Rewa fought to equalize again, Lautoka’s defense remained resolute, and their goalkeeper made several crucial saves. As the final whistle blew, the Lautoka team celebrated their hard-fought victory.

Coach Kavneel Chand expressed pride in his team, stating that the win was a result of their hard work. “This victory demonstrates how teamwork and dedication can lead to success, and I am very proud of the boys,” he remarked.

Chand explained that the players representing Lautoka were chosen following trials. “Our preparations were effective. We began recruiting players weeks ago after the inter-primary competition, and we invited schools to send their best players for trials in order to form a strong team.”

His advice to the opposing team was to come prepared for the competition.
