Lautoka’s hopes in the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) have received a significant boost with the addition of seasoned goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara. Currently living and playing in Auckland, New Zealand, Mateinaqara has been released by his employer, Rams Group of Companies, to enhance the Blues’ goalkeeping unit, which has faced challenges recently.
The former national goalkeeper, who has previously won IDC titles, has a rich history with Lautoka and has also played for other clubs including Ba, Navua, Nadi, and Suva. Flick Hygiene Lautoka is set to compete in Group A alongside Suva, Navua, and Labasa, with their opening match against Navua scheduled for 6 PM next Tuesday.
