Lami High School’s principal, Cama Toko, announced that the official celebration for the school’s triumph in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Vodafone Deans Trophy Under 19 will take place on Saturday at the school’s grounds.
The event is being organized by the Lami High School alumni, along with the parents and teachers association. Toko mentioned that there has been discussion about a march starting from Harbour Point in Suvavou to Lami High.
All relevant parties are engaged in the celebratory preparations, with the aim of wrapping things up before classes start again next Tuesday for Term Three.
Toko emphasized that while sports are a key part of the school’s curriculum, they also offer students various career opportunities. He noted, “Here at Lami High, we encourage our students to participate in all types of sports.”
The recent victory has greatly boosted the morale and enthusiasm of the student body, creating a positive atmosphere at the school.
In addition to the celebrations, Toko shared that Lami High School has received invitations to participate in the Hibiscus touch rugby competition and the Fiji Secondary School cricket competition. The school is also gearing up for rugby league off-season training for the first term of next year.
Toko highlighted their commitment to inclusive education, stating that they focus on addressing each child’s needs. He reiterated that sports serve as a platform to steer students away from drugs and other social issues.
