Lami High School principal Cama Toko announced that the official celebration for the school’s Under 19 victory in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Vodafone Deans Trophy will take place on Saturday on the school grounds. He stated that the celebration is being organized by the old scholars, parents, and teachers association of Lami High School.
Toko mentioned a planned march from Harbour Point in Suvavou to the school as part of the festivities. He emphasized that all stakeholders are involved in the preparation and noted the importance of completing this celebration before classes resume on Tuesday for Term Three.
Highlighting the significance of sports in the school’s curriculum, Toko acknowledged that involvement in sports can also lead to career opportunities for students. He remarked that the recent win has boosted the morale and excitement among students, generating a positive atmosphere.
Additionally, Toko shared that Lami High School has received invitations to participate in both the Hibiscus touch rugby competition and the Fiji Secondary School cricket competition. The school is also preparing for off-season rugby league activities in the upcoming term.
Toko further emphasized the importance of inclusive education, aiming to meet each student’s needs. He noted that sports serve as a constructive platform to steer students away from drugs and other social challenges.
