Lami High School Celebrates Rugby Triumph with a Grand Event!

Lami High School principal Cama Toko announced that the official celebration for the school’s Under 19 victory in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Vodafone Deans Trophy will take place on Saturday at the school grounds. The celebration is being organized by the Lami High School alumni, parents, and the teachers’ association.

Toko mentioned that there are plans for a march from Harbour Point, Suvavou to Lami High. “All stakeholders are involved in the preparation; we want everything sorted out before classes resume next Tuesday for Term Three,” he stated.

He highlighted that while sports are an essential part of the school’s curriculum, they also provide a pathway for students’ careers. “At Lami High, we encourage our students to engage in all kinds of sports,” he said.

The recent victory has boosted the spirit and enthusiasm of the students, creating a positive atmosphere. Additionally, Toko informed that Lami High School has been invited to participate in the upcoming Hibiscus touch rugby competition and the Fiji Secondary School cricket competition.

“We are also preparing for off-season training for rugby league for the first term next year,” Toko added. He emphasized the importance of inclusive education, aiming to support each student according to their individual needs, and noted that sports serve as a means to steer students away from drugs and other social problems.
