Lami High School principal Cama Toko announced that the official celebration for the school’s Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Vodafone Deans Trophy Under 19 victory will take place on Saturday at the school grounds.
The event will be organized by the school’s old scholars, parents, and the teachers’ association. Toko mentioned there are plans for a procession starting from Harbour Point, Suvavou, leading to Lami High School.
All involved parties are preparing for the celebration, with a goal to finalize everything before classes resume for Term Three next Tuesday.
While sports are an essential part of the curriculum at Lami High, Toko noted that participation also opens up career opportunities for students. He emphasized that the school’s commitment to encouraging involvement in various sports has boosted morale and enthusiasm among the students.
Additionally, Lami High School has received invitations to compete in the Hibiscus touch rugby tournament and the Fiji Secondary Schools cricket competition. Toko confirmed plans for off-season training for rugby league in the first term next year.
He reiterated the school’s dedication to inclusive education, tailored to the needs of individual students, and highlighted the role of sports in steering young people away from drugs and other social challenges.
