Lami High School Principal Cama Toko announced that the official celebration for the school’s victory at the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Vodafone Deans Trophy Under 19 will take place on Saturday at the school grounds.
“The celebration is being organized by the Lami High School old scholars, parents, and the teachers association,” Toko stated. Plans include a march from Harbour Point, Suvavou to Lami High.
All stakeholders are working together in preparation for the event, with the aim to clear any distractions before classes restart next Tuesday for Term Three.
While sports are an essential part of the curriculum at Lami High, Toko emphasized that they also serve as a career pathway for students. “We encourage our students to participate in various sports,” he remarked.
The recent victory has greatly boosted the morale and enthusiasm among students, creating a positive atmosphere within the school.
Toko mentioned that Lami High School has received invitations to participate in the Hibiscus touch rugby competition and the Fiji Secondary School cricket competition. “We are also preparing for off-season activities for rugby league for the first term next year,” he added.
The principal highlighted the importance of inclusive education, focusing on addressing each child’s specific needs. He noted that sports act as a valuable platform for steering students away from drugs and other social problems.
