Labasa’s quest for a third consecutive Battle of the Giants title fell short on Sunday as the team did not advance past the group stages, ending their two-year reign as champions.
Coach Ravneel Pratap had mixed feelings about his team’s performance.
“We did everything right. It’s football, we took risks but missed the reward. We missed so many chances.”
“I’m disappointed that we let the title go after two years, but congratulations to the teams who have qualified for the semifinals,” said Pratap.
Pratap also had a message for Labasa fans, urging them not to be disheartened by the outcome.
“Don’t be disappointed, it’s all about the game, we were unlucky… you could see our fitness level was good, everything we did was good, just personal decision making was the thing we lacked,” he explained.
