Extra Supermarket Labasa FC has secured their place in the Super Premier final after a convincing 4-1 victory over Mahijibhai Builders/Calgary Nadi FC in the first semi-final.
The Babasiga Lions dazzled their supporters with impressive skills and pace, dominating the match in nearly every aspect of play. Molea Tigi opened the scoring for Labasa, giving them a one-goal lead at halftime. In the second half, Christopher Wasasala scored two goals, further solidifying Labasa’s lead.
Nadi managed a consolation goal through Tuiba Batiratu, who struck from long range, finding the net beyond the reach of Labasa goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau. The match concluded with an own goal from Nadi in injury time, resulting in a final score of 4-1 in favor of Labasa.
Labasa will now await the outcome of the second semi-final, which will feature Stratum Construction/Zeg Investment Navua FC against Extra Supermarket Rewa FC. Labasa coach Ravneel Pratap expressed pride in his team’s performance, stating that the players had the confidence to compete and win.
Nadi coach Raj Dayal voiced his disappointment at the loss, acknowledging that the playing conditions affected performance but recognized Labasa as the superior team on the day.
