Kitione Baleloa, the recipient of the Golden Glove award at the Futsal IDC, is set to join Labasa’s squad for the prestigious Pacific Community Cup. Baleloa, a goalkeeper from Tailevu Naitasiri who also plays Futsal with the championship-winning Suva team, will step in as a guest player, offering his skills to support veteran goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau.

Labasa’s coach, Ravneel Pratap, explained that the decision to bring in Baleloa was prompted by the unavailability of other goalkeepers for the tournament. Jitoko Vulava is occupied with work commitments and attending a training course with the Fiji Police Force, while Joji Vuakaca is sidelined due to an injury.

“Kitione is in excellent shape and has agreed to join us. We’re excited to have him in the team,” Pratap expressed, highlighting the positive addition to their lineup.

In addition to Baleloa, Asaeli Tunidau and Sakiusa Saqiri from Tailevu Naitasiri are also joining the Babasiga Lions for the Pacific Cup, further strengthening Labasa’s roster.

Labasa is set to kick off their campaign against the USA All Stars today at 4:30 PM, and fans are hopeful that the inclusion of Baleloa and other players will enhance the team’s performance in the competition.

This addition represents a strategic move by Labasa that could pay off in their quest for success in the tournament. The excitement surrounding the team’s preparations is palpable, and their opening match against the USA All Stars promises to be an exciting start to the Pacific Community Cup.
