The Kumar family from Nabua is celebrating their first Diwali in their newly purchased home, a momentous occasion that signifies a fresh start after years of living in bamboo structures. Originally hailing from Nasarawaqa in Bua, Vanua Levu, the family has transitioned to a concrete home on Sukanaivalu Road, allowing this Diwali to be particularly memorable and filled with gratitude.

For Ravinesh Kumar, the new residence is more than just a shelter; it embodies resilience and serves as a valued gift. He expressed his joy, stating, “This home is our Diwali gift. We never thought this day would come, where we could celebrate Diwali in our very own concrete home.”

The family adorned their home with traditional decorations such as diyas and rangoli, brightening Sukanaivalu Road and symbolizing hope and new beginnings. Sheela Kumar shared her excitement for their first Diwali in the new home, wishing everyone joy, happiness, and good health.

Anticipating many guests from friends and neighbors, the Kumar family feels grateful to be part of the Nabua community. Ravinesh emphasized the significance of Diwali, stating, “This Diwali is all about the victory of light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance.”

In a heartfelt reflection, Sweta Kapoor shared her feelings about missing her brothers who now live abroad, reminiscing about their last Diwali together.

The Kumar family’s journey represents a beacon of hope, illustrating that regardless of one’s beginnings, brighter days are possible. This festive season serves as a reminder of resilience and the new possibilities that lie ahead.

As the community celebrates together, the Kumar family’s new home stands as a symbol of light and hope, tying together themes of triumph and unity during this special occasion.
