KPMG Fiji Bids Farewell to Renowned Partner Renu Chand

KPMG Fiji has announced the retirement of Renu Chand, who has served as the partner responsible for Fiji Business & Tax Advisory services. Ms. Chand will officially retire at the end of next month, marking nearly 20 years with the firm. She began her career at KPMG Fiji as a senior manager in the Business Services Group in January 2005 and became a partner by January 2007.

Throughout her nearly two-decade tenure, Ms. Chand held several key positions, including Head of People, Performance & Culture; Head of Learning & Development; Chief Information Officer; National IT Security Officer; and Privacy Liaison Officer.

“Renu is a deeply trusted professional, and the high calibre of her diverse client base is testament to the value clients place in her,” commented KPMG Fiji managing partner Lisa Apted. “She has consistently delivered exceptional client service experiences, and we are grateful for her significant contributions to the firm.”

Ms. Chand played a crucial role in the establishment of the initial pilot and ongoing setup of Fiji Dynamix, as well as the launch of KPMG’s new Nadi office in 2023, after the integration with KPMG Australia. A pioneering female business leader, she has served as past president and treasurer of the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants and was the first female member from Fiji to become a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. In her retirement, Ms. Chand intends to travel and spend time with family abroad.

Ms. Apted indicated that the transition of Ms. Chand’s clients is already in progress, with personal introductions to new partners being made. “Ensuring continuity of engagements and maintaining high-quality service is our priority, and we will collaborate with clients to facilitate a smooth transition,” she stated.
